Beth Reed

Beth has been writing short stories most of her life. She won third prize in the Women’s National Short Story Competition some years ago and was subsequently published in Women’s Own magazine. Beth is currently writing her first novel, a murder mystery with ghostly overtones set in the Yorkshire Dales where she lives with her husband and Labrador. They have two grown up daughters.
Beth enjoyed teaching Literary Studies and Creative Writing for nearly two decades but made a major decision in 2012 to retire from academia and is excited by the way her life has changed since becoming a full time writer. Askance are delighted to be publishing Beth’s story The Thinker as part of the Postional Vertigo short story collection.
