Jackie Hawkins

Jackie Hawkins is a Cambridge artist and writer. Her first career was in genetics but after a career break she has combined her lifelong interest in storytelling and the visual arts by studying for a BA in Illustration. Her aim is to make hand-made books illustrating her own poems and stories, and other texts on commission (www.jackieduckworthart.co.uk).

 

She began writing fiction when she was five and is currently working on a young adult novel . She had a short story included in the anthology ‘Music for Another World’, one in Askance’s 2013 anthology Positional Vertigo and a third in Askance’s 2014 anthology Homes.

 

Her other interests including textile art, keeping chickens, and training her two rescue dogs.
